Tim Hartman joined Government Executive in 2007 to manage new product development, and has risen to serve as Publisher of Digital Media, Director of Research, Group Publisher, and, most recently, President. Tim has overseen the transformation of Government Executive Media Group to a digital-first enterprise. Today, over 50 percent of Government Executive Media Group revenue stems from digital products, and the portfolio has grown to include multiple properties and a research division. In 2014, Tim was promoted to CEO of Atlantic Media’s Washington Divisions to take on the leadership of National Journal Group and to continue to lead Government Executive.

Krystle Kopacz

Krystle Kopacz is the Chief Operating Officer for National Journal Group. She was formerly the Digital General Manager for Atlantic Media’s Government Executive, Nextgov and Defense One brands, responsible for the company’s digital portfolio with a particular focus on emerging opportunities in audience and revenue growth. During her tenure, digital revenue grew to more than 50% of overall revenue, driven by an aggressive product and marketing strategy. In 2012 she was named to Folio’s 13 Under 30 digital media innovators and to MinOnline’s People to Watch, in addition to winning a company Chairman’s Award for digital business growth. Krystle previously worked at a venture-backed digital healthcare company where her work led to significant audience growth across its 35-site portfolio.

Poppy MacDonald is the publisher and co-president of National Journal. Before her most recent promotion, MacDonald served as National Journal’s chief revenue officer, responsible for the business development, marketing, operations and growth strategy of National Journal’s print and digital advertising, underwritten live events, and National Journal Membership. MacDonald started at National Journal in 2011 as vice president of membership, where she converted the publication’s individual subscription model to a membership. MacDonald joined National Journal from Politico, where she served as Politico Pro’s executive director of business development. MacDonald worked at Gallup Inc., where over her four-year tenure she launched the World Poll and led the health care practice and worked for another David Bradley entity, consulting with hospitals and health systems as a director at The Advisory Board Company. MacDonald began her career serving members of Congress representing her Pacific Northwest hometown on both the Senate and House sides of Capitol Hill.
