Before entering media, David founded and owned two (now public) research companies – The Advisory Board Company and The Corporate Executive Board Company. With 50,000 applicants each year, the enterprises are the largest employers of young professional talent in the Washington, D.C., area. During his early 20s, David was a Fulbright Scholar in the Philippines. He graduated from Swarthmore College, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, a J.D. from Georgetown University, and, more recently, an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Swarthmore. His board memberships include the Council on Foreign Relations, the New America Foundation, KIPP DC, Bridges of Understanding, and the Manila-based Child Protection Network.

Justin is the President of Atlantic Media, overseeing all divisions. He joined the company in 2007 as President of Atlantic Consumer Media, during which time he spearheaded a dramatic revitalization of The Atlantic brand. Prior to that, Justin served as President and Publisher of The Week magazine, where he introduced the U.S. edition in 2001. He came to The Week from The Economist Group, where he headed up corporate strategy in London, Hong Kong, and New York. Justin attended the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and worked for the U.S. Department of State in West Africa and Washington, D.C. He is also a founder of Breaking Media, the Bali Purnati Center for the Arts, and the Ouagadougou Education Project.

Jay serves as SVP/Group Publisher of Atlantic Media and Publisher of Quartz and The Atlantic. After helping revitalize The Atlantic, he was promoted to overseeing corporate sales initiatives, strategic partnerships, and advertising revenue for all brands. Jay came to the company from Wired, where he served progressively since 2001 as Advertising Director, Associate Publisher, and Publisher. During his tenure with Wired, Jay was instrumental in the title’s reinvigoration following 2001′s dot-com collapse. A graduate of Connecticut College, Jay also studied English Literature and Law at Durham University in the United Kingdom.

Elizabeth leads The Atlantic’s gold-standard LIVE division as well as QuartzLIVE. She oversees events ranging from small, private roundtable dinners to large-scale, world-renowned festivals. Previously, she managed advertising, marketing, and corporate partnerships as the publisher of The Atlantic and EVP of Atlantic Media.

John first joined National Journal Group as Publisher in 1975, following a five-year career at Newsweek. Over the next several decades, John served as Publisher, President, and CEO. During this period, National Journal expanded, acquiring The Hotline, The Almanac of American Politics, and Government Executive, and created CongressDaily (now National Journal Daily). Following the acquisition of The Atlantic by David Bradley, John also served for many years as President and Group Publisher of The Atlantic as well as of Atlantic Media. Since 2010, John has also served as the Mayor of Washington, VA. He attended Yale University and Columbia Business School and has been on the Board of the National Archives, Arena Stage, and the Magazine Publishers of America.

Ron is in charge of long-term editorial strategy for Atlantic Media and coordinates political coverage and activities across the publications. Prior to joining the company, Brownstein was the National Affairs Columnist for the Los Angeles Times, where he served as the National Political Correspondent and author of the weekly Washington Outlook column. A two-time finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of presidential campaigns, he also serves as a senior political analyst for CNN and appeared as a political analyst for ABC during the 2012 election. His sixth and most recent book,The Second Civil War: How Extreme Partisanship Has Paralyzed Washington and Polarized America, was published by Penguin in November 2007.

Linda oversees communications for all divisions of the company, including The Atlantic, National Journal Group, Government Executive Media Group, Quartz, and Atlantic Media Strategies. Douglass joined Atlantic Media in 2010, after serving as a Director of Communications for the White House Office of Health Reform. She spent eight years as the Chief Capitol Hill Correspondent for ABC News, and earlier was a correspondent for CBS News. She has covered politics and policy in Washington, D.C., and California.

Michael oversees the finance, analytics, and corporate digital business development functions for all divisions of Atlantic Media. He joined Atlantic Media as Director of Digital Business Development and Analytics in early 2011 to build a corporate center of excellence focused on using digital analytics, partnerships, and business development as levers for growth. Prior to his career in media, Michael spent nine years consulting, with stints in finance and accounting investigations and, most recently, management consulting. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in economics and has an MBA from the university’s Darden School of Business.

Prior to joining Atlantic Media, Bruce was Chief Counsel of the Federal Communications Commission, where he was responsible for managing the agency’s overall policy agenda. Before attending law school, he was a staff writer for Slate, where he originated the Explainer column; he has written for publications including The Atlantic, The New York Times Magazine, and The New Republic. Bruce is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.

Tim Hartman joined Government Executive in 2007 to manage new product development, and has risen to serve as Publisher of Digital Media, Director of Research, Group Publisher, and, most recently, President. Tim has overseen the transformation of Government Executive Media Group to a digital-first enterprise. Today, over 50 percent of Government Executive Media Group revenue stems from digital products, and the portfolio has grown to include multiple properties and a research division.

Scott is President of The Atlantic. He manages The Atlantic team across all its platforms — print, digital, and live events – as well as its sister sites, The Atlantic Wire and The Atlantic Cities. He joined the company in May 2009 as The Atlantic’s Vice President of Digital Strategy and Operations, before taking on company-wide digital oversight last year. He played a key role in the publication’s revitalization and digital transformation, culminating in record-high revenue, profit, and digital traffic in 2012. Scott is a 14-year digital veteran involved in many digital launches, including most recently Quartz (qz.com) for Atlantic Media and Portfolio.com while at Condé Nast.

Zazie spearheads large-scale, corporate advertising partnerships for Atlantic Media, as well as marketing efforts at both the corporate and brand levels. Prior to assuming this role, she served as the Associate Publisher of Integrated Marketing at The Atlantic. Zazie began her career in PR at the firm of Harrison & Shriftman in Los Angeles, which led her to publishing, working at both Dennis Publishing and Wenner Media before joining Atlantic Media in 2008.
